Rally New York USA is unique in that it is the only National Championship rally in North America that is run entirely on tarmac roads. Ken Block and Alex Gelsomino won Rally New York USA in two previous years. Block recently announced his participation in the 2010 World Rally Championship. The rally is the first round of the United States Rally Championship. Each day is also a separate round of the New York Rally Championship.
The rally is headquartered in Walton, NY. It begins with a Ceremonial Start at Government Center in Monticello, NY and racing at Concord Resort on Friday afternoon. A full day of racing is scheduled for Saturday in Walton. The rally will end with a Ceremonial Finish at Delaware County Fairgrounds in Walton on Saturday night.
Two-pass reconnaissance and pace notes are authorized same as on any other previous Rally New York event during the last five years. A prize fund guarantees that each team in top 30 percent of finishers, including at least one production car and at least one two-wheel-drive car, will win prize money. Robert Cella, a Rally New York radio operator and a generous sponsor, will again sponsor several eligible teams entering the rally.
The rally takes place only 90 miles northwest of New York City and is run according to international FIA regulations.
